Switzerland booked their place in the semi-finals, alongside previously-qualified Canada and the Olympic Athlete from Russia team, with a last-stone 9-8 victory in the last round-robin session of the Olympic mixed doubles curling event.

In the same session, China beat Norway by 9-3 to set up a tie-breaker re-match between these two teams for the last available semi-final slot. Meanwhile, Finland beat the United States by 7-5 to complete their campaign with a first win and Canada beat Korea by 7-3.

The Olympic Athlete from Russia team - already qualified for the semi-finals - took the early advantage in their game against Switzerland, scoring two points in the first end and following that up with a score of four points in the third end and a steal of one point in the fourth end for a 7-2 half-time lead.

However, Switzerland fought back and with the last stone of the last end, Jenny Perret delivered a perfectly-weighted draw around guards onto the button to score the three points for the 9-8 win that put them into the semi-finals.

China faced Norway and scored three points in the fourth end for a 4-2 half-time lead. After good build-up play in the sixth end, Rui Wang had a straightforward draw into the house to score five points and take a 9-3 lead, at which point Norway conceded.

Finland scored four points in the seventh end to move into a 7-3 lead in their game against the United States and held on to record their first win of the event, by 7-5.

Meanwhile, for the first time in the last four games, Canada were taken all the way to an eighth end, by Korea, before winning by 7-3, a result that ensured they finished in top spot on the rankings, giving them the advantage of last stone in the first end in their semi-final.

In the semi-finals, Canada, on six wins, will face the winner of the tie-breaker game between Norway and China. Switzerland completed their round-robin programme with five wins to rank second and they will face the Olympic Athlete from Russia (OAR) team in the other semi-final. Although OAR shared the same four-win record as China and Norway, they beat both of these teams earlier in the programme to take the direct semi-final slot.

Korea and the United States each had two wins but because Korea had beaten the United States when they met, they ranked sixth and the United States finished seventh. With their one win, Finland ended their campaign in eighth position.

The tie-breaker featuring Norway versus China will take place tonight at 20:05 local time (KST) with the winner securing the remaining semi-final slot.
